Could this video draw more tourists to North East Wales?
A stunning new video is inviting people to discover the legendary destinations in North East Wales for the Year of Legends tourism campaign.
The initiative being funded by Visit Wales sees Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham join forces to promote the region’s ‘Legendary’ attractions.
The slick three-and-a-half minute film takes viewers on a trip around the three counties’ 12 Legendary journeys.
The promotional material invites visitors to explore the region’s castles, landscape, arts, culture, food and drink – as well as telling the stories behind the area’s most legendary figures, including Owain Glyndwr and Thomas Telford.
Wales’ Coastal Path, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, St Winefride’s Well, Coed Llandegla Forest, Castell Dinas Bran, Moel Arthur, Jubilee Tower and Offa’s Dyke Path all feature.
A digital brochure is also available as the three authorities look to tap into social media and drive more visitors to the region.
Adrian Barsby, chairman of Flintshire Destination Partnership said: “The promotions celebrate our past, present and future like never before with attractions, events and activities at a range of legendary locations.
“With North Wales being named as one of the top 10 places to visit in the entire world this year by Lonely Planet, we are keen to showcase the beauty of North East Wales to both residents and visitors.”
He added: “We hope the video will inspire visitors to experience all our hidden gems.”
It is estimated the economic impact of tourism on the area is around £808m with 11m visits annually.
