Rhyl murder detectives ask cabbie to come forward
A cabbie who had to drive through a crowd of people near where a man was stabbed to death has been asked to come forward.
Detectives investigating the murder of 37-year-old shopkeeper Amarjeet Singh-Bhakar in Rhyl last month have appealed for the driver to get in touch as he may have vital information.
DI Gary Kelly said: “We believe that a taxi had to slow down almost to a stop as it manoeuvred through a crowd of people on Prince Edward Avenue in Rhyl at about 3am on the morning of Sunday, April 30.
“The vehicle is described as a saloon or long-shaped vehicle light in colour, similar to a Vauxhall Vectra.
“I am appealing for the driver, or anyone else who may have information which could assist our investigation, to contact North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference number V061153.”
Two teenage boys, both local to Rhyl, have been charged with murder.
They will go on trial in October.
