Boy, 11, injured in Rhyl hit and run
Police are appealing for witnesses after an 11-year-old boy was injured in a suspected hit and run.
The child had been riding his bike in Rhyl Leisure Centre’s car park on Thursday, May 4, between 3pm and 3.10pm when he was struck by a black car.
The boy suffered an injury to his leg during the collision and was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be serious, according to North Wales Police .
The driver failed to stop and fled the scene in the vehicle.
A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “We received a call on May 4 that an 11-year-old boy riding a bicycle had been hit by a car in the car park of Rhyl Leisure Centre.
“The incident happened between 3pm and 3.10pm and is believed to involve a black car.
“An ambulance was called and he was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with a leg injury. He was not seriously injured however.
“The driver made off from the scene without stopping.
“We are appealing for any witnesses – anyone with information should call PC 2744 Nick Ellis on 101 quoting reference RC17063610.”
