A548 in Flintshire reopens after overturned lorry is recovered
A road which was shut to allow an overturned lorry to be recovered has now reopened.
Emergency serviced closed the A548 Shotwick Road on Deeside Industrial Park for almost two hours this evening to allow the recovery work to take place .
The HGV had toppled onto its side during this morning’s rush-hour , spilling its load onto a grass verge.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 8.08am this morning (Thursday) to reports a lorry had overturned on Deeside Industrial Estate.
“We sent a crew in an emergency ambulance to the scene, and a man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.”
The extent of the driver’s injuries are not known.
One lane of the road heading towards Chester remained closed throughout the day, with both lanes being shut from 6pm for recovery work to take place.
The road reopened fully just before 7.45pm.
