Arctic blast brings SNOW to North Wales
We might be heading into May, but some parts of North Wales were waking up to a blanket of snow this morning.
There have been reports of snowfall in Bala and areas of Snowdonia today as the country experiences an unseasonable icy arctic blast.
Large areas of the UK has experienced heavy snowfall as an arctic weather front swept across the United Kingdom bringing freezing gales and even snow in parts.
The cold snap which is coming in from Iceland, will see temperatures plunge to -1C and could last for several days including into the May Bank Holiday weekend.
A forecaster from the Met Office predicted snow and cold conditions for today (Tuesday, April 25) with brisk winds and the possibility of hail and thunder. Widespread frost is also expected over the coming days.
The Met Office’s Alex Deakin said: “The cold air is coming down from the Arctic across Iceland and that colder air has pushed right across the UK.
“There is a suggestion of some more wintry weather and snow on the hills could return for a time next week.”
According to the The Weather Channel , the temperature of some areas will plunge to -3, with parts of Snowdonia hovering around freezing until the weekend.
