Bangor train guard was savaged by dog out of control
A man whose dog savaged a train guard has been handed a suspended sentence and been banned from keeping a dog for five years.
Samuel Danson, 39, of Llandudno Junction, pleaded guilty to being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury and was sentenced at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on March 31 to six weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for a year.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £185 and a victim surcharge of £115, and was disqualified from having custody of a dog for five years.
The dog, believed to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross-breed, was later destroyed.
On 15 July last year, Danson took his dog to Bangor railway station, where the animal bit a train guard.
The attack left the victim with injuries to his arm and leg which required hospital treatment.
PC Jon Liptrot said: “We’re pleased to report that Danson will not be allowed to own a dog for the foreseeable after what was a very nasty attack at Bangor station.”
