Firefighters tackle 50 acre gorse fire at Gwynedd village for nearly two days
Fire crews battled a 50-acre gorse fire at Maentwrog for nearly two days.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called at 12.38pm on Sunday to a fire in the hills near the Gwynedd village.
Five crews were sent to the scene of the fire as it spread over gorse and bracken.
It was thought to be under control but reignited overnight with an off-road vehicle returning this morning.
A spokeswoman for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a stop message was sent to the control room at 6.44am today.
No cause for the fire has been established at this stage.
At 9.26pm fire crews were also called to a gorse fire at Dolwen, Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Three pumps were sent to the scene, from Nefyn, Betws y Coed and Llanrwst and the fire was out by 11.13pm.
