Flint armed siege man jailed for 32 weeks
The man at the heart of a five-hour siege with armed police in Flint has been jailed for 32 weeks.
Daniel Thompson, 25, of Flint, acted in an “aggressive and threatening” manner in the Albert Avenue area of the town on Friday morning.
Roads including Albert Avenue, Maes Alaw and Ffordd Llewelyn were cordoned off as trained negotiators talked to the man who was inside a flat.
Several homes were also evacuated and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School was closed as a precaution.
After five hours Thompson was led away by North Wales Police officers.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
At Wrexham Magistrates Court on Saturday, Thompson was jailed for 32 weeks for breaching a suspended sentence and for affray.
