Fourth man appears in court charged with having gun and plotting to attack man

A 29-year-old Rhyl man was remanded in custody today accused of possessing a handgun and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

Kyle Evitt appeared in the dock at a special hearing at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court with his right arm in a sling.

The case was sent to Mold Crown Court where Evitt, of High Street, will appear next month.

He is accused of having a handgun and conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm to Damian Wilding.

Evitt is also charged with conspiring between March 6 and April 26 to supply herbal cannabis.

David Mainstone, prosecuting, said such “extremely serious offences” had to be tried at the crown court.

On Friday three other local were also remanded in custody charged in relation to the same case.

THREE APPEAR IN COURT AT LLANDUDNO

They are also accused of possessing a handgun and conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm.

Paul Lewis, 39 of Trefor Avenue, Kinmel Bay, Jake Kiernan, 24 of Brickfield Park, Rhyl and Perry Lee Jones of Balmoral Grove in Rhyl also appeared before magistrates in Llandudno.

Evitt was supposed to appear with the three but was reportedly taken ill on the way to court and appeared today instead.

The four were charged after armed police “forcibly stopped” a vehicle on John Street, Rhyl on April 24.

Lewis and Kiernan were also charged with conspiring to supply cannabis.

Kiernan faces an extra charge of possession of cannabis.

All four men will appear at Mold Crown Court on May 26.
