How's this for a sequel? North Wales Police looking for fans to join its 'Line of Duty' team
It is the gripping BBC drama of a team on the front line of police corruption – with murder, double dealing, bribery and violence all part of a day’s work.
But if the death toll in Line of Duty doesn’t put you off then North Wales Police may just want to hear from you for its anti-corruption team.
The Constabulary if looking for new recruits to its real life AC-12 – and is using the critically acclaimed show to interest would be applicants.
Underneath a picture of the show, which starred Thandie Newton and Vicky McClure, the official Twitter account of the force asked: “Were you a fan of #LineofDuty? If so we have the perfect job for you as an Anti-Corruption Unit Investigator.”

The job description states: “The overall purpose of this post is to manage, develop and investigate intelligence both proactively and reactively, in order to PREVENT corruption in North Wales Police, PROTECT people from the risks and effects of corrupt behaviour and PURSUE, prosecute and disrupt any form of corruption that impacts upon the delivery of quality policing service in North Wales.”
The series will return for another two series after the success of the fourth.
The job itself would be based at the force’s Professional Standards Department, at its Colwyn Bay headquarters, and requires 37 hours a week.
The successful candidate would be on an SO1 grade and will receive an annual wage of between £27,519 and £29,307.
Whoever is chosen for the job would need to provide a 12-month commitment to the role and level three Welsh language skills are essential.
The advert also states that women are under-represented in Professional Standards so applications from female candidates are “particularly welcome”.
