Llandudno Primark creates 30 extra jobs as countdown on for opening
Primark has revealed it will create an extra 30 jobs when it opens its new store in Llandudno next month.
The Daily Post revealed last summer that the clothing retailer was coming to the seaside resort – taking on the prominent former BHS unit on Parc Llandudno.
After originally planning to open this autumn, they brought this forward to the summer and announced the opening date will be Tuesday, June 20.
Store bosses had initially planned to have 110 workers at the unit, but now say there will be a total of 140 staff.
A spokeswoman said: “The new store in Llandudno will have over 29,000 sq ft of retail space.
“The store’s design and layout builds on Primark’s contemporary shop fit.
“The store will open on Tuesday 20 June at 10am and will create 140 new jobs.”
It is expected to bring additional shoppers to the town which will be good news for the economy but has sparked concerns about traffic problems around the junctions for Parc Llandudno and Mostyn Champneys retails parks.
Conwy Council has said there will be a number of key changes to traffic management in Llandudno this year to address these concerns.
