Luxury Llangollen wedding mansion expands after £1.5m cash boost
A luxury wedding venue has expanded after a seven-figure funding package.
Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen, has added accommodation for an additional 50 guests, after securing a £1.5million refinancing deal from NatWest.
This has enabled the extensive refurbishment of the Coach House, which will add an additional rooms to its offering.
Construction is already underway and the Coach House will be complete on June 2.
The refinancing package boosts original funding from NatWest which enabled Tyn Dwr Holdings to acquire and redevelop the Grade II listed building two years ago.
Matt Jones, owner of Tyn Dwr Holdings, said: “Over the past two years we have worked hard to transform Tyn Dwr Hall and turn it into an exclusive, unique and beautiful venue for weddings in North Wales.
“We opened in late 2016 and have had an incredible response so far, taking bookings for weddings well into 2019.
“Thanks to NatWest we have been able to drive forward our business aspirations and expand our capabilities with the new Coach House.”
Tyn Dwr Hall was built for ironmaster John Dickin in the 1800s and has been used as a youth hostel and educational venue.
The University of Central Lancashire put it up for sale in 2014 in a bid to cut costs, sparking concerns about its future.
But Matt Jones bought it for around £1m last October and set about the job of turning it into a luxury venue.
It now releases bookings for just 90 weddings a year.
NatWest relationship manager Mark Rafferty, said: “This is a great example of how our support has helped transform a once under-used building into a thriving and sustainable business.
“Tyn Dwr Hall truly is a beautiful venue and we wish and Matt and his team the best of luck.”
