Major land and air search for Prestatyn woman
A major search involving a helicopter, sniffer dogs, mountain rescue volunteers and dozens of police officers has been launched to find a missing woman.
The operation to find Tracy Chapman-Schneider who has disappeared from Prestatyn, continues tonight.
North Wales Police issued an appeal to help find the 51-year-old at around 2.30pm today.
The search party, which includes North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) and the Search and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) has been spotted scouring beaches, sections of Offa’s Dyke path, Prestatyn quarry, and hillsides around Bishopswood Road above the village of Meliden.
A member of the search team said: “We have taken the initial steps in the search and are now carrying out a systematic search.
“We hope that everything turns out alright. We have been discussing with our colleagues at NEWSAR where to search next.
“Other inquiries have been made also.”
Police officers from Flintshire have also been drafted in to help with the search.
