Man airlifted to hospital after 'stabbing' in Connah's Quay
A man has been airlifted to hospital after reports of a 55-year-old “stabbing” himself in Connah’s Quay .
The ambulance service was called to “a medical emergency” in the River View area of the town shortly before 4.25pm today (May 8).
An air ambulance was requested and landed at nearby Golftyn Primary School before the 55-year-old was flown to a special trauma unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
North Wales Police said they were called to an address in Connah’s Quay at 4.30pm by the ambulance service.
A spokesman for the force said: “A 55-year-old male was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be self-inflicted.
“Police are not looking to speak to anyone else in relation to the incident.”
Connah’s Quay councillor Andy Dunbobbin was in his back garden when he saw the helicopter land.
He said: “I was told a man had been stretchered out of a house on River View and taken to the air ambulance.
“One of the neighbours said he’d seen the police coming out of the property with a large knife.”
Police were seen in the River View area carrying out an investigation.
