Man who grabbed stepdad in headlock in row over EASTER EGGS in court on assault charge
A row over Easter eggs turned violent and ended up with a man up on charges of assault.
Ryan Edward Parker found himself in court after he attacked his stepfather Damien John Fox and threw him to the floor.
Parker’s sister had gone round to Mr Fox’s house with some Easter eggs for the younger kids.
But tempers were frayed and the eggs were said to have been thrown back at her.
She rang her brother, Parker, who went round to the house, grabbed his step-dad – who’d recently had a back operation – and got him in a headlock.
He then threw him to the floor. It was claimed further punches were thrown.
When police arrived, Parker said: “I’m not going to lie to you. Yes, I ran in there and flung him to the floor.”
But he denied punching him or any further blows, although victim Mr Fox claimed he felt himself being kneed in the side and being stamped on.
At Flintshire magistrates court today Parker, of Benjamin Road in Wrexham , admitted grabbing Mr Fox, getting him in a headlock and throwing him to the ground on April 6.
His defence solicitor Brian Cross said Parker was “doing brilliantly” on a community order and suggested that the difference between the prosecution and defence accounts of what happened should make no difference to the sentence.
But magistrates adjourned the case after saying that if it was found Parker had kicked Mr Fox, it would be like having used a weapon and that would change what sentencing guidelines they should follow.
Parker was bailed to appear again at a later date.
