Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's cut fuel prices – AGAIN
Morrisons and Sainsbury’s have cut the price of fuel for the second time this week – while Asda has also reduced petrol and diesel prices.
Early on Friday Morrisons leapfrogged Asda to offer the cheapest petrol price among the major supermarket operators. The supermarket capped unleaded at 112.9p and diesel at 113.9p.
It was their second price reduction this week.
But Asda responded with a cut to 112.7p for both unleaded and diesel.
And now Sainsbury’s is cutting the price of diesel and unleaded petrol by up to 2p per litre across its 308 forecourts.
Izzy Hexter, Sainsbury’s Fuel Buying Manager, said: “This is the second time we’ve cut the price of diesel and unleaded petrol this week which is great news for our customers, especially those on the roads this weekend.”
Roger Fogg, Morrisons services director, said: “We are responding quickly for our customers as many will be filling up at the weekend.”
Morrisons has 333 filling stations across the UK.
