Murder detectives continue investigation into death of man in Rhyl
Investigations were continuing today after a man was stabbed to death during a “violent disturbance” in the early hours yesterday in Rhyl.
The 37-year-old victim from Manchester was pronounced dead at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd despite attempts by police officers and paramedics to revive him.
Detectives will continue their inquiries today after another three men were also injured in the incident on Prince Edward Avenue at about 3am.
A 47-year-old man and four male youths, two aged 16, one 15 and one 17, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
Five other men, from outside of North Wales, were also arrested on suspicion of wounding and public order offences.
At least eight were in custody in St Asaph.
Supt Sian Beck said: “This was a shocking incident in which a man has sadly died. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time.
“A full investigation is underway. I would like to reassure the public not to be alarmed by the increased police activity in Rhyl as we carry out our investigations.”

Forensic officers were at the scene yesterday combing the area for clues while officers continued inquries.
The area remained closed to all traffic with extra officers on patrol in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
Residents spoke of their shock after yet another serious crime ricked the area.
Alun Burt, who lives in the area, said: “It is tragic that something like this has happened so close to home, but unfortunately it does happen.”
DCI Simon Williams said: “At this time we are not looking for anymore suspects as part of the investigation. However, I continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to call us on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 quoting ref V061153.”
