Pensioner in walking frame admits gun offence
A pensioner, who appeared court in a walking frame admitted, a gun offence.
John Arthur Walmsley Bennett, 72, had to be supported by nurses when appeared in the dock at Mold Crown Court.
He admitted possessing an air rifle with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence on January 30, when he brandished a .22 calibre BSA air rifle.
Alun Williams, defending, said that one psychiatric report had been prepared and a second one was being commissioned for Bennett who had lived at Derwyn Deg, Wrexham Road, Pontblyddin near Mold.
Mr Williams said Bennett was currently at The Hedfan Psychiatric Unit at Wrexham and it was hoped that the case would be disposed of by a hospital order or a condition of psychiatric treatment.
Judge Rhys Rowlands agreed to re-bail Bennett on condition he does not contact his wife and does not go to the family home.
The court heard that there was already an injunction in place from the civil court.
A pre-sentence report will also be prepared.
