Plas Brereton and Plas Ty Coch mansions up for sale as 'holiday development'
Two historic Caernarfon mansions have been put up for sale with a £1.5m price tag.
Plas Brereton and Plas Ty Coch – which was hit by a fire this month – were bought Cabot Park Ltd in 2013 and planning permission secured for a hotel, restaurant and holiday let development.
Now the mansions have been put up for sale as a “potential holiday development” with estate agents Dafydd Hardy and GVA.
The listing also includes a lodge, boathouse, small harbour, and parkland grounds.
Dafydd Hardy said: “This is a fantastic development opportunity for someone and the timing is perfect with tourism booming and north west Wales a magnet for visitors at the moment.
“There is planning already in place on Plas Brereton and a proposal for Plas Ty Coch.
“This is such a fantastic location and has real potential. We are expecting a lot of interest in the site.”
Plas Brereton is a late Georgian two storey house that sits in a prominent position on the A487 on the outskirts of Caernarfon.
Plas Ty Coch is a Grade II listed mansion constructed in 1807.
It was hit by a blaze earlier this month but fire crews tackled it rapidly and Mr Hardy said it had not caused much damage to the property.
