Race against time to find home for 'gorgeous' abandoned German shepherd
An abandoned German Shepherd who has been overlooked time and time again is looking for a loving new home.
Orion, who is around five years old, suffers from a heart condition which was only detected after she came into the RSPCA’s care.
She arrived at the RSPCA’s Colwyn Bay Bryn-y-Maen animal centre in January, with her pup, after being abandoned.
THe RSPCA says she has a “a gorgeous personality”, is loyal, obedient and energetic. Staff and volunteers at the centre were devastated to learn about her heart condition.
Although Orion isn’t on any medication at the moment and isn’t displaying symptoms, the heart condition can become serious and it isn’t possible to predict what treatment she may need in the future.
Victoria Williams, RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen Centre Manager, said: “Orion is a gorgeous dog with a truly fantastic personality and just wants to spend her days running around and playing. She has basic training and is very responsive but is eager to learn more.
“Knowing that her life will be limited by this condition, it is heartbreaking to think that she’s spending it in kennels and we really do not want her to stay with us any longer than is necessary – she really needs someone special to let her live her life to the full.”
