Rhyl kitten's miracle escape from seagull that dropped it from sky
A four-week-old kitten had a miraculous escape from the clutches of a seagull that swooped upon it and flew off into the sky with it in its beak.
The tiny kitten was found by a member of the public near the Golden Sands Holiday Camp at Sandy Cove in Rhyl on the 3rd of May.
It is believed that she was attacked by a flock of gulls and then dropped from the sky by one of the birds.
She was later collected by an RSPCA Cymru officer and affectionately nicknamed “Sky”.
She is now being hand-reared by staff at the RSPCA’s Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre.
It is believed Sky came from a colony of feral cats based in proximity to the holiday park.
Sky was unhurt in the ordeal and it is hoped she will be made available for re-homing, once she is old enough.

William Galvin, RSPCA animal collection officer, said: “This poor kitten must have been through a terrifying ordeal – seemingly swooped upon by a gull, before being dropped to the ground.
“We’re grateful to a member of the public who spotted her and notified us, and thankfully she was rescued unhurt.
“Sky is very young, and will now be hand-reared at our Animal Centre, and should be available for re-homing when she is old enough.”
