Safety fears leave swings at more than 15 Conwy playgrounds out of bounds
Kids wanting to use a playground in Conwy county might be left wondering why the swings are out of bounds.
It’s because more than 15 parks are undergoing safety checks as a precautionary measure.
Officers from Conwy Council have padlocked swings so that they can’t be used by children.
The playgrounds affected include:-
- Chester Avenue, Kinmel Bay
- Maes y Mor, Abergele
- Parc Gele, Abergele
- Llanfair TH, Dolwen Road, Llysfaen,
- Min y Don, Old Colwyn
- Fairy Glen, Colwyn Bay
- Lower Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay
- Rhos Park, Rhos on Sea
- Trafford Park, Penrhyn Bay
- Bryn Pydew, Church Street, Glan Conwy
- Bodlondeb, Conwy
- Esplanade, Penmaenmawr
- Llanfairfechan Recreation Ground
- Cae Tyddyn, Llanrwst
- Penmachno, Ysbyty Ifan.
A Conwy Council spokeswoman said: “We have taken the precautionary measure of temporarily immobilising a number of swings in the county whilst we carry out checks concerning a part on the equipment.”
