'Significant' arrests made in Rhyl police crackdown
A number of “significant” arrests have been made during a “high profile” police operation in Rhyl.
Officers were deployed across Rhyl for the operation aimed at tackling serious and organised criminality including cross-border crime, the carrying of dangerous and offensive weapons, use of guns and drug supply.
North Wales Police said they used dedicated teams and automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) technology during the crackdown today.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Using dedicated teams and ANPR technology those individuals causing the most harm in our communities have been disrupted, with a number of significant arrests made.
“The road networks provide easy access into Rhyl and the wider community so to target criminals in this way can have immediate and far reaching consequences.”
District Inspector Alwyn Williams, added: “Recent events have only highlighted the challenges that we continue to face in keeping Rhyl safe. This operation is just one of a number of tactics ongoing at present. “

“Whilst members of the public can feel reassured by our activity, those individuals causing harm should know that we are being proactive in our efforts to convict them.”
