Why this North Wales man ran away from his fiancée after she accepted his proposal
This is the heart-warming moment a North Wales man proposed to his girlfriend while taking part in the London Marathon.
Rory Harrison, from Kinmel Bay, got down on one knee in front of the crowds at mile 13, where he knew Louise Bagshaw and his baby daughter Emilie would be waiting.
Louise said yes to the surprise proposal and was brought to tears.
He said: “I knew she’d be at the 13-mile point and when I saw her I got down on one knee and she said yes!
“I had to run for 13 miles with the ring with me in this running bag.
“I had planned to propose when I got told I would be doing the marathon in September and thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“I thought it was quite different, unique and one to tell our daughter when she is older.”
Louise’s parents, Martin and Gina, were also in the crowd and were able to capture the moment on camera.
The moment was made even more special because Rory was running for baby charity Tommy’s, which is very close to the couple’s hearts.

In 2015, Rory and Louise lost their first child after a miscarriage and the charity helped support them.
“We had a scan and saw a little heartbeat at six weeks,” said Rory.
“We got told the baby was the size of a lentil and that’s what we referred to it as.
“I was running it for lentil and for everyone who didn’t get a chance to meet their little one.
“It is a charity very close to both of us. When we lost our little one, we thought why us? You sometimes blame yourself for it.”
Tommy’s funds research into the causes of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.
On January 20 this year, Rory and Louise welcomed baby Emilie into the world.
Rory, 32, now lives in Northampton with his family and ran the Great North Run for charity last year.
He added: “I hit the 20-mile point and everything locked up. At the 25-mile point I saw one of my friends and something inside me said I could go on.
“It was a fantastic day and I never thought I would be able to do it.”
