Woman airlifted to hospital after Gwynedd camper van crash
A woman has been airlifted to hospital following an accident involving a camper van that ended up on its side.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 1pm to the accident on the A470 near Dolgellau .
According to police the smash involved a Peugeot Boxer motorhome and a Vauxhall Astra vehicle.
While the road remained shut for more than three hours, diversions were put in place via the B4416 through Brithdir.
The A470, which was blocked in both directions as the recovery work continued, finally reopened just after 4pm.
Two ambulances attended the scene.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at shortly after 1pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a camper van on the A470 near Dolgellau.
“A woman has been airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.”
The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service also attended and firefighters made the camper van safe.
