Woman killed in Gwynedd holiday park tractor accident 'lived life to its fullest', say family

The family of a woman killed in a tractor accident at a Gwynedd holiday park have said she “lived her life to its fullest”.

Chloe Lou Farrell, 22, who lived in Colwyn Bay, died at The Warren in Abersoch when a tractor overturned shortly after 7pm on Friday.

In a statement, her family said: “She was fun, outgoing and had a great sense of humour. She lived life to the full and loved spending time with her many friends.

“She was passionate about Abersoch, having holidayed at Tal y Fan and later The Warren since she was two years old.

“Chloe loved being out on the boat and jet-ski in all weathers and had spent long summers working in the village. She loved to travel and ski, having recently holidayed in Austria and Banff.

“Chloe met her boyfriend Andy Huddleston in Abersoch. They shared a strong bond as both of them had tragically lost their fathers 10 years ago.

“Everyone is absolutely devastated by this tragic accident. Chloe will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate to meet her and who held her in great affection.

“Chloe was a bright, funny, caring and driven young woman who lived her life to its fullest.

“She had become a best friend more than a daughter and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.”

Chloe was a daughter to Karen, a sister to Brad, Laura and Dan, and a stepdaughter to David.

She attended Howells School in Denbigh and Rydal Penrhos in Colwyn Bay. She played hockey and netball and later studied sports at Llandrillo College.

Chloe worked in the family business Crime Prevention Services and was said to be a “huge asset” to the company.

An investigation has been launched by the police and council into the incident.

Bobby McGhee, CEO of the Haulfryn Group which owns The Warren, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“The emergency services are conducting a full investigation into the accident and what caused the owner’s tractor to overturn.

“Once this is established, we will issue a further statement.”

Abersoch councillor Dewi Wyn Roberts described it as a “tragic” accident, and offered his sympathies and those of the community to the woman’s family.

“Gwynedd Council officers and the police will now be investigating the accident as they have a duty to,” he said.

North Wales Police asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number V068162.
