Wrecked cars caught up in A5 crash

These two ruined cars were involved in a three-vehicle crash on the A5 today that closed the road to drivers.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Ty Nant near Cerrigydrudion.

According to the Welsh Ambulance Service one woman was injured, although it is not clear if she was in either of the cars pictured.

She suffered minor injuries in the accident.

North Wales Police closed the road for more than an hour after the crash that happened around 4pm.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said two emergency vehicles attended the scene.

Meanwhile in a separate accident, paramedics were called to another smash on the A5 at around 4.40pm.

Nobody was injured in the single-vehicle crash near Halton, Wrexham.

Officers closed one lane for an hour.
